Job Description

  • Microsoft SQL Server Developer required to assist with ORBIT maintenance activities.
  • This position is for a Senior SQL Server developer with in-depth development experience with recent versions of SQL Server; specifically, with 2014, 2016 and or 2017. Responsibilities will include developing new systems containing complex stored procedures, writing SSIS packages along with performance tuning and enhancements of existing system. Duties may also include developing data models, performing data analysis, assisting application developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for programming, learning new technologies and be a motivated analytical problem-solver.
  • Essential Functions
  • Design and development systems that meet defined business requirements
  • Independently analyze and solve complex problems
  • Evaluate large and complex data sets
  • Write and maintain technical documentation
  • Manage source code versioning and deployments
  • Write and maintain SSIS Packages
  • Assist application developers in refining complex queues and performance tuning
  • Assist with the debugging and optimization of SQL queries, stored procedures and overall database programming
  • Participate in design and code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • 6+ years development experience with Microsoft SQL Server including recent experience with 2014, 2016 and or 2017
  • Experience in SSIS and SSRS
  • Proficient in SQL development (complex queries, stored procedures and user defined functions) and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with source code management systems (Git, Subversion, TFS)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Required 5 Years
  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services Required 5 Years

Desired Skills

  • Data Modeling Highly desired 3 Years
  • Microsoft SQL Server Query Performance and Optimization Tuning Required 5 Years
  • PowerShell Desired 1 Years
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Highly desired 18 Months
