About The Opportunity

Candidate must have in-depth knowledge of IBM mainframe hardware and software including analysis, design, testing, troubleshooting, migrations, and maintenance techniques.

Job Description

Senior level zOS Systems Programmer with extensive experience with zOS installations and maintenance procedures utilizing SMPE, and configuration of zOS components (WLM, SDSF, LE, JES2). Extensive experience with hardware migrations, IODF, HCD, the latest zSeries, DS8000, and TS7700 hardware installations. Knowledge of mainframe communications configuration (TCP/IP, VTAM, EE, FTP, PAGENT, SSL), Unix Systems Services, IBM utility programs. Knowledge of CICS configuration helpful. Third-party software experience (CA products) helpful. ABILITY TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY AND TO WORK OUTSIDE OF NORMAL WORK HOURS AS NEEDED IS REQUIRED.

Required Skills

  • zOS installations and maintenance with SMPE, configuration of Zos components.
  • Knowledge of latest zSeries hardware including dasd (DS8000) and tape (TS7700).
  • Mainframe communications components (TCP/IP, VTAM, EE).
  • Unix Systems Services components (SMTP, z/OSMF).
  • PREFERRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
  • CA products (CA-7, CA-TLMS, CA-MIM, CA-PANVALET).
  • CICS configuration.
